Stephen Strickland was born in Savannah, Georgia, lived in Louisiana and Florida, but he always wanted to live in his father's native State of Alabama. Mr. Strickland obtained his B.A. degree at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Mr. Strickland obtained his J.D. degree from Cumberland Law School in 1990 in Birmingham, Alabama, and he was awarded the American Jurisprudence Book Award in the area of Administrative Law.

Mr. Strickland began his career as a law clerk for Richard Jaffe in 1988, and he has been with Mr. Jaffe ever since. When Mr. Strickland took the bar examination, he scored the extremely high score of 158 on the M.B.E.

Mr. Strickland is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Colorado, the United States Supreme Court, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Northern, Middle, and Southern United States District Courts of Alabama.
