Associate Attorney

Attorney Jonathan Brown, “JB”, is an Associate Attorney at the Birmingham, Alabama law firm of Jaffe, Hanle, Whisonant & Knight, P.C. He concentrates his practice on criminal defense. He handles matters ranging from drug trafficking, to murder, to white collar crimes. He regularly attends federal, state, and municipal courts, handling both felonies and misdemeanors. He also handles pre-charge allegations, working aggressively to preeminently strike against false accusations.

JB knows every case is important. He strives to give personal detail to each case and uses his knowledge and experience to achieve the absolute best result possible. JB takes each and every case personally and ensures that clients are always kept informed of important matters and takes time to explain the law and evidence to each client. He will fight for your case while treating each case with the compassion and attention to detail that it deserves.

During his legal career, he has been successful in having cases dismissed, receiving favorable verdicts, and reaching other favorable resolutions for clients. JB also has experience representing lawyers, Judges, pharmacist’s, doctors, venture capitalists and other professionals in Federal and State Court, and in front of Administrative Agencies.

JB is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Greater Birmingham Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

After growing up in Denver, Colorado, he attended the University of Alabama obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. JB then graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

While at Cumberland, JB was a member of the National Trial Team and The American Journal of Trial Advocacy. As a member of the Trial Team, JB won two national trial competitions. JB was also a Merit Scholar in Criminal Procedure I, a Caruthers Fellow, and was on the Dean’s List every semester.
